About Gracemont

Gracemont is a small town of 310 according to the 2010 Census. It is about 10 miles north of Anadarko off Highway 281. The first settlers of Gracemont were G. M. and Alice Bailey who founded a post office under the name of Ison. The name was officially changed to Gracemont in 1903. Gracemont is heavily influenced by it's agriculture. The first school house was built in 1902 and Gracemont Public School has been teaching kids ever since!


The Gracemont Public Schools High School was built in 1985 and is the school for grades 7-12.

The Elementary building was built in 1976 and is the school for grades Pre-K through 6.

The James Edelen Field House is the home of Gracemont basketball. The gym was built in 1998 and was named in memory of James Edelen, long time Gracemont Superintendent and Coach.
